Hailing from the Gold Coast, James 'Chilli' Cheal begun shaping boards in his early teens before relocating to Sydney. After successfully refining his skills, he established Chilli Surfboards in 1996 in a warehouse in Brookvale NSW. With a keen eye for aesthetics and attention to detail, Chilli has flourished into a global brand with the iconic Chilli logo being recognised by surfers worldwide. Chilli's have landed under the feet of many world tour surfers and most notably lead Andy Irons to his World title in 2004.
